THE WOODLANDS, TX - Head Coach George Dohner comments on the 2020 Varsity Cross Country season.

VARSITY BOYS
This season is quite different without an SPC Championship meet at the end of the season. One thing that hasn't changed is the great attitudes and hard work these boys bring to practice every day. We have a great mixture of talented upperclassmen to go along with some young outstanding runners. By the end of the season we should be a very strong team.

Runners to watch
All-SPC senior Will McDermott has had a great summer of training and is ready for a breakout season. Senior Zac Winton and juniors Vishnu Swaminathan and Drew Wilkerson will play a key role in the success of the team. Sophomores Nathan Seamans, Theo Nemeth, and Kase Melodick will provide great depth to our team. Freshmen Grey Mendenhall is a great addition to the varsity team.

2019 Team Accomplishments
South Zone- 4th place
SPC-8th place

VARSITY GIRLS
The girls’ team returns six of their top seven runners from last year’s 4th place SPC team. The girls have been working hard over the summer and are ready for another great season. Since there is no SPC championship this season, the goal is to run personal bests and to beat the South Zone teams.

Runners to watch
Senior All SPC runner Katie Drake returns to provide valuable leadership to her younger teammates. Rebecca Melin, Abby Mendenhall, Caitlin Lanigan, and Amber Navarra are a talented group of juniors who will play a key role in the success of our team. Sophomores Chloe Smith and Megan Day had outstanding freshmen seasons and are primed for a great sophomore year. Freshmen Ava Perugini is a newcomer who has the talent to be in our top seven.

2019 Team Accomplishments
3rd Place- South Zone
4th Place- SPC Championship
