The Dragons cap the season with a win over Awty for their Dig Pink game to raise funds for breast cancer research.

Coach Jennifer Peyton: We wrapped up the season with Dig Pink this week. We had players break 1,000 milestones–junior Laura Weatherford with 1,000 career digs and sophomore Lauren Wolford with 1,000 career assists.

VARSITY FOOTBALL Dragons Deal Another Shutout

10/30 vs Beaumont Kelly • 42-0 W

Coach Erik DeHaven: The weather was perfect for football Friday night and the Dragons stayed perfect on the year, shutting out Kelly Catholic 42-0. The Dragons offense came out slow but found their footing on the ground rushing for 237 yards and all six touchdowns. The running back trio of senior Jake Peterson, senior Ben DeLoit and junior Jaxson Pierce shared the wealth for five of those touchdowns with senior QB Kaedyn Sullivan running in the other; but it was the Dragon defense that was the real show of the night. The gang-tackling Dragon defensive unit held the Bulldogs to under 150 of total offense, and ball hawked their way to three interceptions. In the second half, the Bulldogs had five possessions and the Dragons forced them to three-and-out on all five. Senior Jake Peterson and junior Gamble Reed were around the ball all night, combining for 14 tackles, while junior LB Blake Pitts had a highlight-reel interception and return setting up a one-play scoring drive for the Dragon offense. The Dragon defense has now allowed just 17 points in five games, with just three points in their last four.

Cooper will have an off week as they prepare for their season finale Saturday, November 14th at Pugh Field against the Houston St. John’s Mavericks.
