THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Points North Theatre, in conjunction with The Woodlands Township and The Woodlands Jazz Orchestra, is proud to present Arts in the Park featuring Holiday in The Woodlands, an original 1940s USO-style musical revue. Take a journey back in time with this musical extravaganza – which is free and open to the public – as you enjoy an evening filled with song, dance, live Big Band music, and even authentic commercials from The Greatest Generation.

It’s Christmas Eve, December 24, 1944, and the boys and girls from the USO are performing a live show to support and entertain our fighting men (and women!) on the Western Front. With live performances from the greats like Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Etta James, Bing Crosby, and more – and joined by some special guests to boot – this is one evening the whole family can enjoy in outdoor safety and comfort.

Holiday in The Woodlands is an original musical revue written by Sean K. Thompson and is directed by Johnny Barton, with music direction by Brandon Tanner and live music provided by Darryl Bayer and The Woodlands Jazz Orchestra. It features Betsy Fisher, Lindsey Steel, Kristen Joy Malisewski, Ryan Dineen, Kevyn Eddie, Sam Sigman, Kenneth Grissom, Hannah Gilchriest, Casey Radle, Brooke Hale, and Peyton Wilkinson, with special appearances by MaryAnna Nagorski, Grandma’s Boyfriends Barbershop Quartet, and Crystyl Mary Swanson.

Coolers, picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs are permitted. Please no tents and tables. Glass is prohibited. Those planning to attend the performance should practice social distancing, refrain from gathering in large groups and continue following all guidelines established by the CDC when in public spaces and around others outside of your household. Please note all information is subject to change, pending local, state and federal Orders or Declarations.

*Please consider supporting local restaurants by ordering to go prior to the event.*

Special thanks to and Points North Theatre and The Woodlands Jazz Orchestra!
