THE WOODLANDS, TX --

The Woodlands 72, Oak Ridge 58

On the first night of district 13-6A games, the Highlanders picked up an impressive road win over the War Eagles. This game was a lot more competitive than what the final score shows. The Woodlands led by six at the break after both teams traded leads throughout the first two quarters.

Three-point shooting was the theme for both teams in the second half. Oak Ridge came out hot at the start of the second half to retake the lead, and it was all thanks to shots falling from three-point land.

However, The Highlanders were more than ready answer with a run of their own. Led by a Shey Eberwein takeover, who had the hot hand from both inside and outside the three-point line, The Woodlands was able to pull away and secure the win.

Justin Tompkins led the War Eagles with 21 points, and AJ Osborne added 11. For the Highlanders, Brock Luechtefeld was the team’s high score with 20, followed by 16 from Eberwein.
