Montgomery County COVID-19 Update for April 5, 2021

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, can confirm mass vaccinations continue in our county by appointment. All adult residents are now eligible for a vaccine.

Lone Star Family Health Center, individual hospitals, physicians’ offices, and pharmacies have vaccines available to eligible populations. Please check their websites and Facebook pages for additional information. You can find a list of providers and additional information on the DSHS website here: https://www.dshs.state.tx.us/coronavirus/immunize/vaccine-hubs.aspx.

If you have questions regarding COVID-19, testing or vaccines, please call the Montgomery County COVID-19 Call Center at 936-523-3916. It is available Monday - Thursday from 8:00am - 4:30pm or Friday from 8:00 - 4:00pm.

Today, we can sadly confirm two additional deaths related to COVID-19.

• A man in his 30s, from Pinehurst, died in the hospital. There were no co-morbidities noted in his medical records.
• A man in his 60s, from Conroe, died in the hospital. There were no co-morbidities noted in his medical records.

We can also confirm:

• TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 234 to 49,839 since last Thursday’s (4/1) report. Of the 234 new cases, 204 were tested since 3/25/2021.
• ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 decreased by 191 to 1,917 since last Thursday’s (4/1) report. Since we did not report on Good Friday, we accounted for 206 additional inactive cases today. These are cases we have been unable to contact for 30 days or more.
• 76 county residents are known, as a result of contact investigations, to be in the hospital. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.
• 26,063 people have clinically recovered.

The Testing Positivity Rate for Montgomery County is 10%, up from 9%. This number is updated weekly on Wednesdays. Source: UT Health, School of Public Health
