Montgomery County COVID-19 Update for April 29, 2021

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, would like to encourage residents to take advantage of mass vaccinations happening now in our county.

If you would like to make an appointment through MCPHD for Monday, May 3rd, please click here: mcphd-tx.org. Vaccines will be administered at Woodforest Stadium in Shenandoah.

Also, other providers, including St. Luke’s and Lone Star Family Health Center, are offering first and second doses at Woodforest Stadium every day this week. If you have questions, please call the Montgomery County COVID-19 Call Center at 936-523-3916. The call center is available Monday - Thursday from 8:00am - 4:30pm or Friday from 8:00 - 4:00pm.

Lone Star Family Health Center, individual hospitals, physicians’ offices, and pharmacies also have vaccines available for all adults. Please check their websites and Facebook pages for additional information. Today, we can confirm:

• TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 92 to 52,299 since Wednesday’s (4/28) report. Of the 92 new cases, 67 were tested since 4/15/2021.
• ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 increased by 11 to 1,595 since Wednesday’s (4/28) report.
• 117 county residents are known, as a result of contact investigations, to be in the hospital. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.
• 27,583 people have clinically recovered.

The Testing Positivity Rate for Montgomery County remains at 8% for the 3rd week in a row. This number is updated weekly on Wednesdays. Source: UT Health, School of Public Health
