MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- Do you have a lady in your family that is about to go off to college? Are you nervous about her taking this step into adulthood, and the dangers being alone in a new environment could pose?

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office offers FREE self-defense courses and we have a special class for ladies preparing to leave home for college this summer. Normal classes are held once a month in the evenings; however, this specific class is being held July 28 & 29, 2021 from 9am-5pm in Willis.

The R.A.D. [Rape Aggression Defense] course is specifically created for women of age 13 and above to teach situational awareness in hopes the graduates will recognize and avoid situations where they might need self-defense skills. The course then teaches self-defense skills and builds confidence so when a lady is put in the position to need to protect herself, she has the training to rely on.
