Montgomery County COVID-19 Update for May 4, 2021

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, would like to encourage residents to take advantage of mass vaccinations happening now in our county.Multiple providers, including St. Luke’s and Lone Star Family Health Center, are offering first and second doses at Woodforest Stadium every day this week. If you have questions, please call the Montgomery County COVID-19 Call Center at 936-523-3916. The call center is available Monday - Thursday from 8:00am - 4:30pm or Friday from 8:00 - 4:00pm.MCPHD has a limited number of appointments available for Thursday, May 6th at the Montgomery Community Center at FM 149 at College St. in Montgomery, Texas. Please go to mcphd-tx.org to register. First and second doses of the Moderna vaccine are available.Other hospitals, physicians’ offices, and pharmacies also have vaccines available for all adults. • A man in his 80s, from Spring, died in the hospital. He had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.
• A woman in her 80s, from Magnolia, died in the hospital. He had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.We can also confirm:
• TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 30 to 52,824 since Monday’s (5/3) report. All 30 new cases were tested since 4/22/2021.
• ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 decreased by 235 to 1,482 since Monday’s (5/3) report. On Tuesdays and Fridays, we account for additional inactive cases who we have been unable to contact for 30 days or more. Today, we added 214 inactive cases.
• 97 county residents are known, as a result of contact investigations, to be in the hospital. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.
• 27,865 people have clinically recovered.The Testing Positivity Rate for Montgomery County remains at 8% for the 3rd week in a row. This number is updated weekly on Wednesdays.
