Montgomery County COVID-19 Update for May 13, 2021

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, would like to encourage residents to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Today, the CDC has released new guidance, stating those who are fully vaccinated no longer have to wear masks, with a few exceptions. For details, please click here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/fully-vaccinated.html.

St. Luke’s and Lone Star Family Health Center are offering second doses at Woodforest Stadium on certain days this week. If you have questions, please call the Montgomery County COVID-19 Call Center at 936-523-3916. The call center is available Monday - Thursday from 8:00am - 4:30pm or Friday from 8:00 - 4:00pm.

Other hospitals, physicians’ offices, and pharmacies also have vaccines available for all adults. Please check their websites and Facebook pages for additional information. Today, we can confirm:

• TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 93 to 53,505 since Wednesday’s (5/12) report.
• ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 increased by 55 to 1,402 since Wednesday’s (5/12) report.
• 76 county residents are known, as a result of contact investigations, to be in the hospital. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.
• 28,325 people have clinically recovered.

The Testing Positivity Rate for Montgomery County is 7%, down from 8% last week. This number is updated weekly on Wednesdays. Source: UT Health, School of Public Health
