Montgomery County COVID-19 Update for June 16, 2021

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, would like to encourage all eligible residents to be vaccinated. Everyone 12 years of age and older is eligible for a vaccine in Texas.

Hospitals, physicians’ offices, and pharmacies have vaccines available. You can find a list of providers and additional information on the DSHS website here: https://www.dshs.state.tx.us/coronavirus/immunize/vaccine-hubs.aspx.

If you have questions about COVID-19 or vaccines, please call the COVID-19 Call Center at 936-523-3916. It is open Monday-Thursday from 8:00am – 4:30pm and Friday from 8:00am – 4:00pm.

Since our June 9th report, we can confirm six additional deaths related to COVID-19.

• A man in his 50s, from Magnolia, died in the hospital. He had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.

• A man in his 50s, from Porter, died in the hospital. There were no co-morbidities noted in his medical records.

• A man in his 50s, from Magnolia, died in the hospital. He had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.

• A woman in her 50s, from Conroe, died in the hospital. She had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.

• A woman in her 60s, from Magnolia, died in the hospital. She had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.

• A man in his 80s, from New Caney, died in the hospital. He had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.

We can also confirm:

·TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 242 to 55,208 since last Wednesday’s (6/9) report.

·ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 decreased by 161 to 739 since last Wednesday’s (6/9) report. Today, we accounted for 202 additional inactive cases who we have been unable to contact for 30 days or more.

·67 county residents are known, as a result of contact investigations, to be in the hospital. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.

·29,424 people have clinically recovered.

The Testing Positivity Rate for Montgomery County has decreased to 4%, down from 5% last week.

·Wear a mask in public (over your nose and mouth) or with others who live outside your household. Never share a mask with others.

·Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer frequently.

·Disinfect surfaces in your car and around your home.
