Montgomery County COVID-19 Update for July 7, 2021

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, would like to encourage all eligible residents to be vaccinated. Everyone 12 years of age and older is eligible for a vaccine in Texas.

Hospitals, physicians’ offices, and pharmacies have vaccines available. You can find a list of providers and additional information on the DSHS website here:

Since our June 30th report, we can confirm four additional deaths related to COVID-19.


•A man in his 40s, from Willis, died in the hospital. He had co-morbidities in addition to
testing positive for COVID-19.

• A man in his 50s, from Willis, died in the hospital. He had co-morbidities in addition to
testing positive for COVID-19.

• A man in his 60s, from Willis, died in the hospital. He had co-morbidities in addition to
testing positive for COVID-19.

• A woman in her 90s, from The Woodlands, died in a nursing home. She had comorbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.

We can also confirm:

• TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 258 to 55,838 since last Wednesday’s (6/30)
report.

• ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 increased by 1 to 595 since last Wednesday’s (6/30)
report. Today, we accounted for 201 additional inactive cases who we have been unable
to contact for 30 days or more.

• 77 county residents are known, as a result of contact investigations, to be in the
hospital. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.

• 29,746 people have clinically recovered.

The Testing Positivity Rate for Montgomery County remains at 4% for the 4th consecutive
week.

· Avoid groups of people.

· Practice social distancing.

· Wear a mask in public (over your nose and mouth) or with others who live outside your household. Never share a mask with others.

· Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer frequently.

· Disinfect surfaces in your car and around your home.
