MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office K9 Hummer. Hummer was born in Holland on April 1, 2013 and passed away on July 16, 2021. Hummer was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer that caused his retirement earlier this year.

K9 Hummer was partner to Sergeant Birch in the Homeland Security Division and served from September of 2014, until May 28, 2021. Hummer was certified in narcotics and patrol where during his career he was instrumental in numerous narcotics arrests and seizures. K9 Hummer was one of those partners that criminals feared but kids and cops loved.

Please keep the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit and Sergeant Birch in your thoughts and prayers. Rest in Peace Hummer, you served with distinction and honor and we are all grateful for your contribution to the community you served. Rest easy, you have earned it, we’ve got it from here.
