Notice of First Public Meeting Flood Early Warning System for San Jacinto County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- The San Jacinto River Authority (SJRA) will hold the first of three planned public meetings to present the Flood Early Warning System for San Jacinto County project (the 'Project') on:

Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., at the San Jacinto County Shelter
located at 225 Live Oak St. Coldspring, TX 77331.



The Project will provide early warning notification to San Jacinto County residents, businesses, property owners downstream of the gage locations, as well as County emergency personnel and responders, protecting life and allowing protection of property which can be moved to a safe location with adequate warning. The Project is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2022 and will include the installation of three rain/stream gages located near Winters Bayou at State Highway 150, Peach Creek at Farm-to-Market (FM) 3081, and East Fork San Jacinto River at FM 945. The Project is being funded by the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) and SJRA.

Any interested persons unable to attend the meeting may submit their views to Mr. Barrett prior to Wednesday, August 25, 2021 or participate remotely via livestream from the SJRA Facebook page.
