THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership (EDP) announces the promotion of Ashley Byers to Director of Marketing and Outreach effective September 17, 2021.

Ashley has been with the organization for nine years, originally as The Woodlands Chamber’s Director of Special Events and later transferred to the EDP. She manages all aspects of the marketing department to include creating the company's marketing campaign on a local to international level, graphic design, ad placement, contract negotiations, website content and social media campaigns. Ashley also plans and executes quality special events and meetings for the Partners, as well as represents the EDP with various community organizations.

As her role in outreach evolves, Ashley will be responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing a new program for membership retention efforts for the organization. As EDP’s membership base grows, management feels it is essential to have a staff member focus on this important role to retain members and provide them the maximum benefits of their membership.

Ashley is earning a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from Stephen F. Austin State University. She received an Associate of Arts from Lone Star College Montgomery, graduating with Latin Honors of Magna Cum Laude and was the Student Commencement Speaker. She has also received certificates in Economic Development Marketing & Attraction by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) and Basic Economic Development by the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service. She is a 2015 graduate of Leadership Montgomery County.

Ashley is a founding member and Immediate Past President of Interfaith Young Professionals (IYP) and is also on Interfaith of The Woodlands Development Committee. She serves on the Visit the Woodlands Marketing Committee and is a Co-Chair of the PR subcommittee for Memorial Hermann’s In the Pink of Health Luncheon Committee.

“As the only membership based economic development organization within Montgomery County, having a member of our team focus on membership retention and engagement is hugely beneficial to our organization’s fiscal strength and to our individual members. Ashley will excel in these additional responsibilities and will continue to contribute her skills in marketing and outreach” said Gil Staley, Chief Executive Officer.
