THE WOODLANDS, TX – Welcome to summer in The Woodlands, where people can get the benefits of a sauna just from taking a hike and AC repair companies have visions of freon fairies dancing in their heads. While the weekend will stick with the norm, it looks like next week might bring some heavy rains.

It’ll be hot and dry all weekend but rain is on the horizon

Today we’re already hot and bright, and once again the temperature will get to 100 degrees late this afternoon – but be cautious because the high humidity has the heat index at 104, so be sure to protect yourself. And cloud cover we may have will be trending down with the end of the workday. Ironically, we won’t hit our low tonight of 74 until near dawn tomorrow morning.

Saturday will see another day of high humidity with nary a cloud in the sky with the high breaking the 100 barrier. Even the winds will take a dip, so you might want to make some indoor plans for the day – luckily The Woodlands has shops, malls, and restaurants galore to help ease the heat. Once again the ‘overnight’ low will be early the next morning, again at 74.

It’ll be mostly sunny and hot on Sunday, another day of temps around 100. But throughout the day we’ll encounter a steadily rising pressure front, presaging a lot of stormy weather starting Monday and possibly lasting all week. So you may want to brave the heat on Sunday for some outdoor fun before the raindrops start falling.

Stay tuned for weather updates from Woodlands Online, and be sure to check us out on Monday for our “Week Ahead” forecast.
