The Woodlands Area Youth Symphony Auditions

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Area Youth Symphony offers an opportunity for students to participate in a high level FULL orchestra experience on a regular basis. Students will learn challenging music, experience professional level teaching and coaching, and have access to outreach opportunities along with four formal concerts per year - including opportunities for side-by-side performance with the Woodlands Symphony Orchestra. In addition, W.A.Y.S. is a component of the Woodlands Symphony in collaboration with Lone Star College – Montgomery Campus to further both organizations commitment to education in the arts and to mold future generations of classical musicians. One of the greatest aspects of W.A.Y.S. is the tight partnership it celebrates with the Woodlands Symphony, as well as the ability to perform in a LOCAL youth symphony throughout the year- without having to commute to downtown Houston every week.

Rehearsals are located at the Lone Star- Montgomery Campus and occur weekly on Monday evenings from 6-8 pm beginning Monday, August 22. Auditions are due by August 20th at 12 pm and information on audition requirements can be found by using the QR code on the flyer or by visiting the website listed above and clicking on the “W.A.Y.S. – Audition” tab. We understand this date is rapidly approaching but we feel that the audition requirements are not lengthy and students should have adequate time to achieve a strong audition recording.
