Top chefs from Amrina and TRIS make wishes come true with their charitable culinary event of the season, “What The Chef!”

Great collaborations can produce some of the best experiences, and the partnership between local restaurants Amrina and TRIS take your taste buds to a higher level on Tuesday, August 30. 

With the introduction of a new 16-course dinner/drink pairing to help raise awareness, and with a percentage of the proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, executive chefs Jassi Bindra and Austin Simmons will offer some of the area’s best cuisine with an intimate chef's table. 

About Chef Jassi Bindra

Chef Jassi Bindra is the creative mind behind The Woodlands’ luxe Indian restaurant, Amrina. Chef Jassi’s accolades include earning a Michelin plate and mention in the Michelin guide in 2019 while he led the kitchen for Punjab Grill in Washington, D.C., his residence before making the move to Texas. The expansive menu at Amrina offers Indian-inspired dishes with a creative flourish and a variety of dishes and flavors that pull from continents across the globe. 

About Chef Austin Simmons

A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, Texas-born and raised Chef Austin has been impressing guests around the globe. He sources ingredients from around the world and combines them with unrivaled technique and vision at his concepts TRIS Offering an explementary dining experience, Chef Simmons’ menu combines worldly flavors from his extensive travels with classic culinary techniques. 

About the Event

For the “What The Chef!” event, the community is being given the opportunity to bid on a chef table experience for six. The event will be held at Amrina at 3 Waterway Square Pl #100, The Woodlands, Texas 77380. Bidding is open, with the starting bid already set at $6,000. The evening will act as a charitable introduction to Amrina’s impressive Chef’s Table, which will open to reservations immediately after for dinner on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Each course will alternate between Chef Jassi and Chef Austin, while the drink pairings will be curated by Amrina’s sommelier, Giorgio Ferrero, and TRIS’ sommelier, LeVar Williams.

About the Make-A-Wish Foundation Charity and “What The Chef!” ?

When “What The Chef!” was first being developed, both Jassi and Austin made the decision to help a charity that focused on children. They eventually chose the Make-A-Wish Foundation with a percentage of the proceeds going to Make-A-Wish from this event to go to help fulfill the dreams of deserving kids.
