THE WOODLANDS, TX – We hope that you don’t shoot the messenger, but the Woodlands Online Weather staff must be the bearer of bad tidings. This week will see a reemergence of temperatures that will reach blisteringly high levels.

Believe it or not, we’re back in the triple digits this week

Today we’ll get away with a high of ‘only’ 94 as clouds and a sprinkling of thunderstorms keep things from spiraling out of control. Later this afternoon, our onrush of clouds will finally move on as the winds die down around the same time. With luch, before midnight the temperature will get down into the 70s.

Tuesday will see a sunny sky with barely a lick of clouds and a high of 95 (with a humidity that will raise this a few degrees). Moderate winds out of the southeast will go away later in the evening.

Brace for the temps to soar on Wednesday morning; the starry, somewhat-cool sky you enjoyed the night before will now be ablaze as temps hit 98 with a heat index that will push it into the triple digits. No clouds will provide any shade, and even the winds will keep away.

Amazingly, Thursday is the first day of autumn, but someone forgot to tell the weather patterns, as we’ll have another blazing day with ‘dry’ temperatures hitting 100 and the heat index kicking that up a notch or two. Even the low temperature of the mid 70s won’t hit until near sunrise the next morning.

Friday will see more of the same, with cloudless skies and a high temperature that will waver between 99 and 100. With these temperatures and lack of clouds, we here at the Home Office encourage everyone to keep hats, sunscreen, and bottled water nearby at all times. Or, you can also get stylish and bring back the parasol.

As the weekend hits, you can expect what would laughable be called a cooling trend as high temperatures plunge into the low 90s…

Stay tuned on Friday as we bring you Woodlands Weekend Weather.
