THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Willis Wildkats and College Park Lady Cavaliers met at Oak Ridge which would be the neutral location of the 4th place tiebreaker for the 2022 playoff spot. Willis and College Park ended the season with the same record so a tiebreaker would need to be played to determine who would move on and who would end their regular season.

In the first set, Willis would take a quick 4-0 lead and maintain the momentum throughout the set. College Park would end up tying the score up but Willis came to play and would take the lead late in the set. Although down College Park would make one last surge and take the lead and win the close set 25-22.

College Park didn’t start off on the right foot but was able to come back in the end. As for the second set, the teams would go point for point exchanging the lead multiple times. Coach Collins’ nerves were on edge but could be heard saying “I love these games.”

She would further explain, “I love the excitement and the intensity, it does make me nervous but I think that as coaches, this is what we live for.”

Willis would test the College Park defense with a couple of missiles over the net but in the end the Lady Cavaliers would take the lead and win their second set in a row.

Willis would once again heat up in the third set with College Park trailing early on. With a couple of rallies College Park would find themselves coming back as they did in the last two sets. They would essentially keep the lead and sweep Willis, giving them the tiebreaking win.

College Park will go on to join The Woodlands, Grand Oaks, and Conroe in the post season. They will match up against district 14-6A for the Area Round.
