THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The employees, friends, and supporters of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office are excited to congratulate our Sheriff, Rand Henderson, for his recent selection as a recipient of the esteemed 2023 Interfaith of The Woodlands Hometown Hero Award.

The 2023 Hometown Hero Awards were announced on November 9, 2022, at a gathering at The Woodlands Towers at The Waterway, surrounded by family, friends, and Hometown Hero recipients from 1999-2022.
The nominations come from community members who observed the actions of those they believe deserve this honor. Nominees must personify qualities and characteristics that embody and deserve the prestigious award. Some of these characteristics are: serving as a positive role model, having a history of volunteerism, sacrificing personal gain to achieve noble goals, and exhibiting leadership and courage.

Missy Herndon, President & CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands, states, “We are blessed, here in The Woodlands area, to have so many neighbors who choose to share their time, talents, and treasures, giving back and making a positive impact to make our community the best place to live, work, play and pray! We had an amazing evening under the stars, publicly announcing the Heroes at The Woodlands Towers. We look forward to celebrating our Hometown Heroes at the Gala in March while remembering those who have come before us, whose contributions have created this very special place we call home.”

Sheriff Henderson proudly noted, “I am incredibly honored to have been recognized as one of the 2023 Interfaith of The Woodlands Hometown Heroes. This recognition’s current and previous recipients are some of our community’s most compassionate and innovative leaders. Their caring and servant hearts are one of the main reasons our Montgomery County communities are great places to live, work, and play. Thank you to Missy Kemp Herndon, President and CEO, Will Murphy, Chairman of the Interfaith Board, and those who bestowed this honorable distinction.”

Congratulations, Sheriff Henderson, and all the 2023 Interfaith Hometown Hero Award recipients.
