Woodlands Art League offers local residents an excellent opportunity to explore their artistic side
THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands is home to a beautiful, functional artistic grotto, and you probably have driven past it time and time again without noting it.
The Epic Creative Co-Op is the largest video production studio and the largest photography studio in Montgomery County. The building is the home of Silver Rock Productions – for video and film production – and Multop Media for video production specializing in commercials, social media production, and product photography. This unique building was built with upcycled materials and recycled cargo containers.
Since 2014, there has been additional office space in its animation studio, and also the option to lease the property for outdoor photo shoots and film productions. And in 2018, a large photography studio was added to the mix, which is occupied by The Woodlands Art League (WAL), a nonprofit organization that specializes in art classes, workshops, and gallery showings. The League currently has a membership of more than 300 artists who live in our community.
In 2020, the facility’s owner, Vic Cherubini, built the epic Mancave – a 2,100-square-foot multipurpose building designed for studio production. The building also includes a large workshop and office space, and is leased for all kinds of public and private events, and the four-acre property includes a backlot that can be used for large scale video and film productions.
Recently, WAL had one of its members, David Malin, who is a “professional” Santa, pose for the group for a special holiday-themed shoot. The shoot was the most recent example of the WAL bringing local art to the local community.
“As more of our residents retire and look for meaningful things to do, WAL offers them an excellent opportunity to explore their artistic side,” said Cherubini. “I want to extend an open invitation to any interested people to visit the epic Creative Co-Op. Here you will find artists, photographers, video production people and software developers working in a unique environment.
