Do you have what it takes to be the Mario Kart champion? Deacon Baldy's partners up with The Adventure Begins today for a Mario Kart Tournament! Amazing prizes are awarded to the top three winners. The $10 entry fee includes one free drink, and between rounds you can rehydrate and carb up with their dozens of beers on tap and onsite food trucks. You must be 18 and up to enter.

Tomorrow night is primarily reserved for the adults to party, so let today be a magical one for the kiddos… literally. The Woodlands Children’s Museum presents the NEA-sponsored Monty the Magician Magic Shows, taking place at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 1:30 p.m. The event is included in the price of admission, which is $7.50 for adults and children 1 year and older (free for members). For a New Year’s Eve party with a band with true staying power, head out to Dosey Doe - The Big Barn, to catch Asleep at the Wheel. This amazing Austin-based band has been playing gigs nonstop since 1969, and this concert will definitely be right up there on the fun factor. Tonight, the doors will open a little later than normal – 7:30 p.m. – so that you can pace yourself with the festivities. Dinner is served at 7:30, the opening act commences at 9 o’clock, and then Asleep at the Wheel takes the stage at 10:30 and will help ring in the New Year at midnight.
