Traffic Impact Notice: The Woodlands Triathlon Set for Saturday, May 10, 2025

The Woodlands Township is preparing to welcome athletes and spectators for the 2025 Woodlands Triathlon, scheduled for Saturday, May 10, 2025, beginning at 7:00 a.m. at Northshore Park. This annual USA Triathlon (USAT)-sanctioned event will feature a competitive field of 800 participants.

To ensure the safety of racers and the general public, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office will oversee traffic control measures, including temporary road and lane closures throughout The Woodlands. Residents and motorists are strongly encouraged to plan ahead, expect delays, and use alternate routes where possible.

Race Route and Roadway Impact

The triathlon course will utilize portions of Lake Woodlands Drive, Gosling Road, Research Forest Drive, Woodlands Parkway, Cochran’s Crossing Drive, and Grogan’s Mill Road.

Road/Lane Closures (6:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.)

Full Road Closures:

  • Lake Woodlands Bridge – Westbound lanes from Lake Front Circle to Lakeside Boulevard

  • Lake Woodlands Bridge – Eastbound lanes from Windward Cove to Lake Front Circle

Inside Lane Closures:

  • Lake Woodlands Drive – Eastbound from Cochran's Crossing to Windward Cove

Outside Lane Closures:

  • Lake Woodlands Drive – Westbound from Lakeside Boulevard to Gosling Road

  • Gosling Road – Northbound from Lake Woodlands to Research Forest Drive

  • Research Forest Drive – Eastbound from Gosling Road to Grogan’s Mill Road

  • Grogan’s Mill Road – Southbound from Research Forest to Woodlands Parkway

  • Woodlands Parkway – Westbound to Cochran’s Crossing Drive

  • Cochran’s Crossing Drive – Northbound to Lake Woodlands Drive

Motorists are advised to avoid the race area and seek alternate routes to minimize delays. The cooperation of residents and visitors is greatly appreciated to ensure the safety and success of this community event.
