THE WOODLANDS, TX – Quote of the week: “You’ll never get bored when you try something new. There’s really no limit to what you can do.” – Dr. Seuss

Whether you need to gently ease into the new year or hit the ground running, The Woodlands has events planned out to make your transition into 2023 as seamless as possible. Here’s a list of the top 5 events on our calendar you might want to look into.

Tuesday, January 3
You might still have some Christmas carols in your heart. Maybe you want to greet the new year with a happy song… or maybe you need to sing the blues already. In any event, Dosey Doe Breakfast, BBQ, & Whiskey Bar has the outlet you need with its Open Mic Night, running from 7 - 9 p.m. Performance time slots last 15 minutes and are on a first come first serve basis. Bring your singing chops, an instrument if you need it, and family and friends if you have them, and show The Woodlands area what you got.

Your dog might still be tripping out from all the ‘boom-booms’ of celebratory New Year’s fireworks (and to those of you who set off personal fireworks within Township limits… shame on you). Help your pooches regain their inner calm by heading over to The Woodlands Resort for their dog-centric Yappy Hour, happening 5 - 7 p.m. on the back porch at their Back Table Kitchen & Bar. Pet parents and their four-legged companions will enjoy a beautiful, waterfront setting with both table and lounge seating overlooking the 18th hole of the North Course, drink specials, complimentary pet treats, and live music

Saturday, January 7
It wasn’t quite a white Christmas and we didn’t have chestnuts roasting on an open fire here in The Woodlands, but Dosey Doe - The Big Barn is bringing you the next big thing. Casey Chesnutt (son of Mark Chesnutt) is a live music entertainer, recording artist and songwriter, and he’s taking the stage tonight! The kitchen opens at 6:30 p.m. with dinner served before opening act The Hutcheson Brothers warms up the crowd at 7:30, and then Casey himself will carry on the family legacy soon thereafter.
