THE WOODLANDS, TX – College Park hosted the Conroe Tigers after coming off a break full of tournament action in San Diego California. With the positive outcome of that tournament, College Park looks to keep their winning streak going at home. Conroe looks to keep their top spot on the district leaderboard with a current 5-0 record.

As the first quarter started, the intensity would build from each possession on each end of the court. Conroe would strike first and keep their defense on lock as they stopped the College Park attacks to the board. The Tigers would hold College Park 5-0 with four minutes left in the quarter. Down but not out, College Park would try to take the lead but fell short as the quarter came to an end with a score of 9-6.

In the second quarter, Martez James would heat up for College Park scoring six of their 16 total points. The Cavaliers would make a statement in the second quarter as they went on a run and held Conroe to just six points.

Things would take a turn with just seconds left in the quarter. College Park and Conroe would fight for a lose ball and things would get out of hand as the tossing and turning became pushing and shoving. In the end it was decided that two of the players from each team, who instigated the aggression, would sit out the remainder of the game.

The intensity of the game took a turn after the half which gave the game a different outcome. Buckman with College Park would take the reigns and power his way through the paint to score 11 points in the third quarter. Conroe wouldn’t be too far behind as they would almost match the 18 points scored by College Park with 17.

With the lead just a couple of possessions away, Conroe and College Park would battle in the fourth quarter. McNeely would flex his roster and make sure everyone would have an opportunity to shoot the ball which gave them conversions resulting in a 17 point quarter.

Conroe would battle on the other end of the court with College Park’s defense but be stopped short with the heavy pressure. Conroe would eventually fall 57-43 in the intense battle at College Park high school.
