THE WOODLANDS, TX – As our Monday – aka “Valentine’s Eve” – progresses, the sunny skies get greyer by the hour as more and more clouds creep in. At the same time, the humidity is spiking, the dew point is rising, and the pressure is dropping, and we’re still not at our high temperature of 73. As the cloud coverage tips over 50 percent this evening, the chances of rain commence. Overnight, it’ll be nigh impossible to see any stars or the waning gibbous moon through completely occluded skies.

Varying temps and sporadic storms will make for a interesting week

Tuesday morning will dawn in the rising grip of precipitation, with some significant rain cresting in the midmorning, pushed diagonally with gusting winds getting up to 15 mph. Around lunchtime, the rains, winds, and clouds will start to dissipate as the humidity plummets to about only 25 percent. The temps will keep things muggy, with the high hitting the upper 70s.but dropping at sundown until they hit the lower 50s.

As Tuesday slides into Wednesday, the clouds will make a return engagement until the skies are nearly completely grey, and they’re expected to bring thunderstorms both in the morning and late that night. It’ll be another muggy day with a high of 78 and a low of 52. This is one day where you may want to consider indoor activities only.

Thursday will be marginally better, still with a lot of cloud coverage but without the rains, which should be completely tapered off shortly after sunrise. The sun will definitely peek through by the afternoon, and the dropping humidity and rising pressure will presage a return to cooler, drier weather. We’ll only hit the mid 50s for a high, and the low will once again visit the 30s, with some northwesterly winds adding to the chill factor.

We’ll end the work week on Friday kind of less exciting than the days leading up to it. The winds will be moderate under half-clouded skies with temperatures hovering around the 50s most of the day, but dropping again as the sun goes down. Fortunately, this weather moderation should hang around for the weekend, but next week we may be finding the mercury once again reaching past the 80 mark…

Stay tuned on Friday as we bring you Woodlands Weekend Weather.
