THE WOODLANDS, TX – We’re still more than a fortnight – it’s a British term meaning ‘two weeks,’ look it up – away from spring, but the local weather patterns wouldn’t seem to know it based on this weekend’s forecast. Our weather will be positively summerlike – sunny, warm, breezeless, and not a lick of rain in the forecast.

Bright, warm, and dry… and we’re still in winter

This morning’s wet lawns and darkened sidewalks are all that remains from last night’s storms that blazed through the area. Despite the brightly shining sun, it’s still pretty cool, encouraged by some gusty winds. But after lunchtime the winds will suddenly go down to near nothing as we finally break out of the 60s to a high of 73. Enjoy the weather stress-free as you take The Woodlands Express Rodeo Shuttle down to Houston for the night’s cowboy festivities. Rising pressure and humidity will keep things cool in the evening and outright cold overnight, with a low in the 40s.

Saturday we’ll rapidly climb through the mercury levels to hit a high in the low 80s under more cloudless skies and still winds. Anyone running in The Woodlands Marathon should slather on the sunscreen and accept any water or Gatorade offered. As the morning humidity rapidly drops down from 80 percent to the mid-20s, the temps will soar. Mid-afternoon, however, the corollaries will happen, and the humidity will come back as the temp drops. Overnight, we can enjoy some comfortable temperatures in the 50s.

Sunday will be a variation of the preceding day’s theme; humidity that drops as the temperatures rise, compounded by rising pressure and dew point and a bump in the winds with cloudless skies. Perfect weather for both inside and out, so head over to the Montgomery County Spring Home & Outdoor Living Show to get the best of both worlds. As Sunday night starts to morph into early Monday morning, we’ll have a low about ten degrees higher than the night before.

Enjoy the weekend weather while it lasts, though; it looks like next week will be a lot stormier and muggier with a cold front to follow…
