THE WOODLANDS, TX – Last week at this time, we were telling you about the unseasonal heat wave that would wrack us for the pre-Spring Break week. Now that we’re actually in Spring Break, ironically, the weather has opted to remind us that there’s still a week of winter.

Cold. Wet. Windy.

The cold, bright, and breezy Monday morning so far will struggle to get above 70 for a high this afternoon. The winds will die down a bit as a cloud front moves in, and dropping humidity will keep things from getting too onerous as we get into an overnight low of 50.

Tuesday morning will start off rather still and cloudy, but the winds will once again spike and the high pressure will keep us in the upper 60s for the high. Once sundown hits, however, the mercury will plummet down into the upper 40s for our low as the clouds miraculously disappear around midnight.

On Wednesday, we’ll enjoy mostly sunny skies; the clouds will dissipate for a while but the rising humidity and lowering pressure will warm things up and we’ll make it to a late-afternoon high of 77. Almost immediately, however, the thermometer will do a turnaround and we’ll drop about 15 degrees in a matter of a few hours.

As you wake up Thursday morning, you’ll be greeted with a lot more cloud coverage and rumbling skies. Thunderstorms will wrack the area throughout the day, and the low pressure and high humidity will get us up to an uncomfortable 78 in the afternoon. Layers and umbrellas are our suggestions for the day. As the day progresses, all of our lawns are pretty much guaranteed to get watered, and how.

Thursday night, however, will see a turnaround in the pressure but not humidity, resulting in Friday being another rainy day but a heck of a lot cooler – predictions are a high of only 59. There won’t be nearly as much thunder as rain in the morning, but that should abate after a few hours, and by the time you’re ready to kick off your shoes Friday evening and celebrate St. Patrick's Day in style, the rains should be completely gone. The clouds will stick around, through, as the low gets all the way down to 40.

There may be a good-weather break for the weekend, but next week looks like winter might not go into that dark night without a fight…

Stay tuned on Friday as we bring you Woodlands Weekend Weather.
