CONROE, TX -- The Conroe Lady Tigers have been making some waves in the 13-6A district because of the eight freshmen and no seniors on their softball team. They took on the Grand Oaks Grizzlies Wednesday afternoon at home in a district game during Spring Break.

Freshman Eva Lantagne was the pitcher for Conroe and was able to hold off any runs from Grand Oaks until the fourth inning. Mayce Burkett and Katie Torres would hit a couple of home runs and bring in a runner each. This would give the Grizzlies the lead after being down in the third quarter from a Conroe RBI.

Kourtney Bellinger and Eva Lantagne would have a pitching battle for the next couple of innings but no other runs would cross over the plate until the final inning. Conroe would hit a single into the outfield and bring one runner in making the score 2-4.

Unfortunately for Conroe, Bellinger would retire the side and end the game before any other runs were made. Grand Oaks would take the win 4-2 in a rare district day game.
