THE WOODLANDS, TX – At the moment on this Monday afternoon, we’re in the dry space between two sets of storms. Tonight around 9 p.m., we can expect thunderstorms to make a return appearance to rumble through the night. Our afternoon high of 82 will quickly turn around and dwindle down into the 60s for an overnight low.

Lots of clouds this week

Tuesday will keep all of the clouds but less of the rain. Practically horizon to horizon will be grey with clouds as the temps struggle to reach a high in the 70s, helped along by rising pressure and lowering humidity. Things will be kept relatively cool with some gusty winds peaking late in the afternoon. That night will see us getting back down into the 50s for a low.

Wednesday promises to be more of the same. Cloudy skies – this time punctuated by some rain chances – will take up most of the day when we reach our high of only 70. Later in the afternoon, however, the run will peek through to remind us it’s still up there somewhere. Once again, we’ll be down into the 50s for a chilly, cloudy, and damp low.

On Thursday, the sheer amount of cloud coverage mixed with rising humidity will warm things up a bit, and we’ll settle for a high of a muggier 77 in the afternoon. Even our overnight low will be much warmer at 69 degrees.

Friday will be the warmest and stickiest yet; our temperatures will make it all the way up into the mid 80s as the near-total cloud coverage remains and damp winds from the Gulf kick up a few notches. The chances of rain will flirt with our expectations all day and night.

Thus far, this is just a pale prologue to the weather coming next week, which should include some more thunderstorms and highs into the 90s…

Stay tuned on Friday as we bring you Woodlands Weekend Weather.
