THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Oak Ridge War Eagles hosted the College Park Cavaliers in the first match of a two-game series on Saturday afternoon. Oak Ridge is coming off a series win against Cleveland while College Park looks to turn things around after a tough series loss from The Woodlands.

Conner Bennet would start things off on the mound for Oak Ridge while Orlando (Pica) Balderas would pitch for College Park.

It would be a defensive battle throughout the first couple of innings. The War Eagles would get some hits but would ultimately be retired before anyone could cross the plate. This would be the same for the Cavaliers until the top of the seventh inning.

A couple of bases would be occupied as College Park would hit one in the outfield bringing in one run which would give them the lead after being tied for six innings.

Unfortunately, Oak Ridge couldn’t answer back in the bottom of the seventh and would be defeated by College Park 1-0.

College Park gains a positive record of 6-5 in district while Oak Ridge falls to 8-3. The next game will be next week (Tuesday) at College Park High School.
