THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Willis Wildkats hosted the Oak Ridge Lady War Eagles at Grand Oaks High School for the final game of district play on Friday night. This was to determine who would move on and who’s season would end at district.

In the top of the second is where Oak Ridge would quickly gain the lead 1-0 against Willis. Although Willis would try to answer back, they were shot down by the Oak Ridge defense.

Willis would struggle in the circle in the next inning which resulted in bases loaded and eventually a run walked in by the pitcher. This would all happen with no outs on the board but Willis would be able to retire the side without any other runs crossing the plate.

With a 2-0 lead, Oak Ridge would rally in the top of the fifth with a couple of hits that resulted in a single and double but more importantly, two runs crossing the plate. This would give them a commanding 4-0 lead.

Once again Willis would try to answer back but was unsuccessful although making contact with the ball.

In the top of the sixth Oak Ridge would once again rally with another double and single but this time three runners crossed the plate. Oak Ridge would increase their lead 7-0 heading into the final inning.

The inning would end quickly on both sides and Oak Ridge would take the win 7-0. Oak Ridge would make the playoffs with this crucial win over Willis.
