THE WOODLANDS, TX – For the most part, this weekend will be one for outdoor fun, with lots of sunny skies and warmer temperatures. But there will be that part in the middle that will be the exact opposite.

Friday and Sunday are bright and sunny, but Saturday sings a gloomier tune

Friday will continue along its trend so far; with our high hitting 86 in the mid-afternoon, making for some gorgeous weather just right for maybe a TGIF picnic. A little before that, however, unseen forces will be at work to turn things around. The pressure front and humidity level both will plummet, and the winds will kick up. But it’ll still be nice enough weather for you to hit Texas TreeVentures and enjoy a night-time climb with Glow in the Park. Late tonight, hopefully after most of us are already in bed, from practically out of nowhere a storm will rage through the area. Clouds will blot out the stars from horizon to horizon, and we’d be hard pressed to say you won’t get wet to some extent as you snuggle under the blankets as we hit a low in the mid 50s.

As Saturday morning dawns, the rains will have for the most part moved on, but the clouds will be slower to dissipate. Winds form out of the northwest will continue to steadily rise throughout the day, not helping the chill factor as our high temperature only hits 68. Take advantage of the seasonal weather by hitting the Get Ready – Emergency Preparedness Event hosted by The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Services Department.

While we hit an outright frigid low of 48 Saturday night – well, technically, Sunday morning – the last day of the weekend will work overtime to make up for the storms that preceded it. We’re back to a sunny, cloudless day as the temperatures soar up to the low 80s for a high under mainly windless skies. Now’s the time to grab blankets and the entire family and head out to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion for the Woodlands Symphony Orchestra’s ‘Great Scot!’ concert.

As you head to bed Sunday night in preparation for a new week, enjoy a period of warm sunny days and cool nights… but be ready for some more of the gloomy stuff later on…
