THE WOODLANDS, TX – This week, for the most part you should enjoy some cloudy – if not warm – weather for any outdoor plans. As our Monday continues, we’ll settle in for a high of 85 under partly cloudy skies. But a low pressure system is already brewing, and our humidity that’s been in decline is about to do a sharp turnaround. As a result, the clouds are already forming, and they won’t be going away anytime soon.

Cloudy and warm, the week might turn wet

The pressure will hit rock bottom this evening, and as it turns around and starts rising we’ll enjoy the relative coolness of the mid 60s for a low. Tuesday will continue the trend, with clouds stretching from horizon to horizon and the high temperature coming around 83. All throughout the day there is the slightest chance of rain, but if it comes, it’ll most likely come in the form of those drops that do nothing but smear your windshield. Overnight we’ll hit the low 60s for a balmy dreamland.

On Wednesday, we’ll get a minor break in the clouds as the high pressure front hits its peak. The sun will peek through from time to time, and once again we’ll have the barest chances of rain all day. If you were thinking of a perfect day to play hooky from the office, this might be the day. We’ll stay in the 80s all day, not even hitting down to our low of 64 until well into the next morning.

The tide turns on Thursday. We’ll maintain the general temperature trends with another high in the mid 80s, but this time augmented with afternoon thunderstorms. We can kiss goodbye to the sun for the next few days, as the clouds will remain dark and pendulous (to quote Rocky Horror). The storms will stay with us all Thursday night – keeping the low at a slightly higher 70 degrees) – and well through Friday.

Our final work day of the week will see more rain dumped but in more scattered fashion. The humidity and clouds will work together to bring our high all the way up to 87, so you may want to have several options – both indoors and out – for your Cinco de Mayo plans.

For the weekend, we may get a slight break from the chances of rain, but the sunshine won’t last for long…

Stay tuned on Friday as we bring you Woodlands Weekend Weather.
