MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- On May 30, 2023, Chief Deputy Hall welcomed 22 new Cadets of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Basic Police Officer Course (BPOC), Class A-23. These men and women will be in a full-time paid cadet academy class offered by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

To be selected for the position of Cadet, each candidate underwent a competitive application process consisting of academic and physical testing. This selection process included background investigations, oral board interviews with Academy staff, polygraph exams, and medical screenings. There was no guarantee of acceptance, and they had to successfully pass each level of assessment to be considered.

This BPOC cadet class has a rigorous 21-week schedule of classroom instruction and physical assessments ahead of them, and they will graduate in November 2023. Upon graduation, these newly commissioned Deputies will immediately begin the Field Training Officer Program, and they will be allocated across each of the three Patrol Precincts during an intensive training process.

Class A-23, we look forward to seeing your journey from Cadets to Deputies!
