The Woodlands Fire Department tackles vehicle fire, blames overheated vape pen charger

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- At 1:27 this afternoon Engine 101 was dispatched to a vehicle fire on North Bay Place in East Shore. On arrival Engine 191 reported that a small fire in the pickup truck’s cab had been extinguished by the vehicle operator and fire damage was confined to the center console. Fire investigators determined that a vape pen, which was being charged with an iPhone cord, had overheated and was the cause of the fire. See the attached graphic for vape pen safety tips
