Precinct 3 continues storm debris removal effort

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Montgomery County Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack will continue to contract with CrowderGulf to remove large storm debris from residential areas for at least another week.

CrowderGulf will work the July 4th holiday weekend and all of next week removing large storm debris that residents have placed along the county right of way from their private property. CrowderGulf started work on Monday, June 26, to help with the storm debris removal in the aftermath of the June 21 overnight storms that swept through parts of South Montgomery County with record straight-line winds. In addition, Precinct 3 crews will continue with storm debris cleanup efforts.

Due to the magnitude of the residential property damage to trees, Commissioner Noack has extended the timeframe for cleanup.

Please note:
• Pickup times for residences, streets or neighborhoods will not be scheduled for specific dates/times. Crews currently are going street by street in the most devastated areas.

• Residents can contact the Precinct 3 office or submit a work order via the P3 Works app in order to ensure that Precinct 3 is aware of their need for large-volume storm debris pickup.

• Residents should place debris along the right of way for the free pickup services. (Note: The county is prohibited by law from entering private property to make repairs and/or improvements, such as tree and yard debris removal).

• Residents are discouraged from placing any yard debris in the drainage ditch or roadway, as it could have a negative impact on stormwater drainage and traffic safety, respectively.

• Residents should contact their waste management provider for smaller yard debris pickup in order to verify bundling and size limitation requirements for pickup.

• Residents also are encouraged to use the Precinct 3 Recycling Facility for free yard waste drop-off. Fees for yard debris drop-off at the facility are being waived during cleanup efforts.

• Recycling facility services are for the use of Montgomery County residents, who should be prepared to show identification verifying their residence at the time of drop-off. The facility is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday at 1122 Pruitt Road, Spring, TX 77380. The facility will be open normal hours on Saturday, July 1, and Monday, July 3.

• If residents cannot wait for county storm debris removal, they can bring it to the recycling facility or contract with a private company for removal.

Precinct 3 appreciates residents’ understanding of the situation, their efforts to clean up private property and their patience as Precinct 3 and the county work diligently on cleanup efforts.
