CONROE, TX -- Grand Oaks High School senior Jaela Auguste helped lead USA Volleyball to the 2023 FIVB U19 Girls World Championship in Crotia and Hungary.

Auguste is a 6-foot-2 middle blocker, who has committed to continue her career at the University of Florida next year. After leading the Grizzlies to a share of the district title and earning All-Greater Houston honors last year, she is a consensus All-Greater Houston Preseason selection. Auguste ranked second in the state with a .524 hitting percentage, collecting 336 kills and ranking in the top 20 in Texas with 164 blocks.

USA Volleyball posted a perfect 9-0 record, rallying from an 0-2 deficit in the championship match to defeat Turkey in five sets. Team USA also had a five-set victory over Brazil in the quarterfinals and downed Italy in four sets in the semifinals. USA Volleyball also claimed the Pan American Cup in May.
