THE WOODLANDS, TX – If you’ve survived The Woodlands weather thus far, then soon it’ll become one of those things that one day you’ll look back on and laugh. For now, however, the giggles of fondness may be in short supply as the record-breaking heat continues. That being said, it looks like we’re in for a little relief that just might be the start of a cooling trend.

With luck, we might just avoid triple digits this week

Today will see a high of a relatively cool 96; unfortunately, the residual moisture in the air from last night’s spate of rains will jack up the heat index another 10 degrees. But – as they say – a feels-like high of 106 beats one of 111. Breezes and some clouds will help keep things under control, but don’t get lulled into a false sense of security; still be sure to stay hydrated and sunscreened.

As we hit our low of 77, Tuesday will dawn a little brighter and warmer. We’ll make it up to 98 under sunny skies, but plummeting humidity and dew point will help the overnight low make it all the way down to 71, making it the first night of ‘below thermostat’ weather in a while.

Wednesday and Thursday will be near-identical as the sun remains and the temps creep back up perilously close to 100. Wednesday will be slightly windier, but at least both nights will enjoy lows in the low 70s.

Unfortunately, it looks like Friday might break the 100 mark again, but believe it or not it’s a presage to some cooler, wetter weather headed our way, for which our lawns will be duly thankful…

Stay tuned on Friday as we bring you Woodlands Weekend Weather.
