THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The fun of summer doesn’t have to end Labor Day weekend. In the Houston area, where fall weather hits a sweet spot with warm days and mild nights, The Woodlands Hotels, a trio of premier properties on the city’s verdant north side, are inviting guests to savor the best aspects of the past season into December with heated pools and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. The Woodlands Resort
Fresh off a multi-million-dollar renovation, The Woodlands Resort is a favorite fall destination with an array of mostly free weekend programming options through October for kids, including foam parties, karaoke sessions, poolside arts and crafts and dive-in movie screenings. There’s plenty for adults as well, including Saturday whiskey tastings in the Lobby Bar in November from 4 pm – 5pm and 11 am Saturday yoga classes held on the grounds.

Special programming highlights include Kid’s Cooking Classes on October 7 at newly opened Harrison’s restaurant, Martini Wednesdays at recently unveiled Lobby Bar starting September 13, Cigar Rolling and Whiskey Tasting at Back Table Kitchen & Bar on September 23, Deep Eddy Pool Party on September 30, nature photography classes led by Fatima Donaldson on October 7 and November 18, plus The Spruce Market Sip & Strolls on November 9th and 16th with drink specials, boutique shopping perks and local fashion designers.

Families can anticipate a thrilling Halloween weekend starting on October 28, complete with spooky campfire story time, a foam party by the pool, costume contest, arts and crafts, and more. On October 29, the spine-tingling Spooky Brunch Bash will take place at Harrison's.

Make the most of your fall stay with the Picnic Package, which includes deluxe accommodations for up to four, bike rental for two, a backpack filled with seasonal essentials, a $50 dining credit and access for up to four to the signature Forest Oasis Waterpark, featuring two pools, 30-foot helix waterslides, 1,000-foot lazy river, kiddie pool and splash pad.

The hotel’s special seasonal programming includes Rooftop Yoga every Saturday at 9:30 am (until November 11), the ticketed, five-course Agave on the Amalfi tequila and mezcal dinner on October 26, an adult-centric Halloween party on October 28, complete with a costume contest and live music, plus the November 10 Art Walk, a guided champagne tour of the Waterways’ eclectic installations. Embassy Suites by Hilton The Woodlands at Hughes Landing
For those with an adventurous spirit, the lakeside Embassy Suites by Hilton The Woodlands at Hughes Landing is a hop, skip and a jump from Lakes Edge Boat House, offering kayak, stand up paddle boarding and water bike rentals. Also nearby is Texas TreeVentures, a popular outdoor aerial course.
