Woodlands Online gets recognized by The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce for 25-year partnership

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Woodlands Online was recognized and given a special award by The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce in honor of 25 years of WOL being a Chamber member. The recognition was given at the Chamber’s annual meeting and awards luncheon that took place at The Woodlands Country Club. This event was the 45th annual such celebratory luncheon.

JJ Hollie, the president and CEO of the Chamber, was pleased with the sold-out attendance. “Today is our annual meeting to mark the end of the Chamber’s fiscal year – which is August 31 – and we celebrate our members and our volunteers and to hand out some special awards. It’s just a great day for the Chamber and the community,” he said in an exclusive interview with Woodlands Online.

When asked by Woodlands Online about the current state and future of the Township and Chamber, he said, “I think as we go forward we’re going to be diversifying our economy. I think that’s the name of the game, how we can grow not only our healthcare sector but also life sciences, innovation and technology, and where we’re going to be when The Woodlands celebrates 50 years soon and where we’ll be 50 years after that. I think it says that the sky's the limit for us. We’re already the number one place to live in the entire country, and we’re going to keep that.”

Woodlands Online’s news editor accepted the 25-year award from Hollie and immediate past chairman of the Chamber Jim Carman.
