The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce Hosts Candidate Forum for The Woodlands Township Board of Directors Candidates

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- On Thursday, October 12, 2023, The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce partnered with Woodlands Online to host a Candidate Forum at Sam Houston State University-The Woodlands Center. The forum featured candidates running for The Woodlands Township Board of Directors Positions 5,6 & 7 which will be on the November 7, 2023 ballot. Sean K. Thompson, Woodlands Online News Editor, moderated the event.

The event featured an overview of Constitutional Amendments on the ballot, candidate opening statements as well as Q&A from Thompson and the audience. A live fact checker was present to monitor and verify candidate statements.

The following candidates participated in the forum:

• Tricia Danto, Position 5 Candidate
• Dr. Ann K. Snyder, Position 6 Candidate
• Dr. Tom Chumbley, Position 7 Candidate
• Cindy Heiser, Position 7 Candidate

The candidates discussed their positions on a wide range of topics including the Conroe Independent School District Bond, the role of Village Association Boards, budget priorities for the Township and how to best manage the tremendous growth in The Woodlands area. Time was also spent on public safety, incorporation and natural resources like water.
