Halloween… election season… the impending holidays… it’s enough to overwhelm the best of us. This is the perfect time to take some ‘me’ time and relax and/or have fun at one of the hundreds of events available this week. Here’s a list of our top five for you to consider!

Monday - Friday, October 30 - November 3

There’s nothing scary about getting a jump on casting your ballot, and it’s a great week to get your early voting done. Throughout both Montgomery and Harris Counties, early voting is going on all week until Friday evening. You can vote at any of the polling locations in your county, which is more convenient than having to hit your precinct election station on Election Day next week. Thursday, November 2

A ‘70s band that’s been cited as an influence for such mega music machines as the Eagles, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Van Halen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Thin Lizzy, Metallica, and Dream Theater, is taking the stage at Dosey Doe - The Big Barn. Come jam and groove to the timeless tunes of Wishbone Ash… don’t forget that your ticket price also gets you a delicious pre-concert dinner!

Saturday, November 4

The Woodlands Hills’ 5th annual “Harvest in The Hills” Model Home Tour and Fall Festival – hosted once again by Howard Hughes Holdings, Inc. – is happening today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public. Eight local and national homebuilders will present 15 fully decorated model homes for attendees to walk through and admire; houses are priced from the low $300s. Guests who tour all the models will be entered in a random drawing for exciting prizes with no purchase necessary. The fall festival itself takes place at the Activity Center in Founders Park. The outdoor activities will feature tons of family-friendly entertainment, including dog shows, live music, fall patch, food trucks, door prizes, face painting, gourmet coffee, craft activities, and balloon artists.

Saturday & Sunday, November 4 - 5

Relive the simple life with the Creekside Family Campout. Activities include archery, kayaking, crafts, an outdoor movie, night hikes, games, campfire, and s’mores. Tents will be on the field and activities throughout the park in the amphitheater, trails and open space. The experience is priceless! The fee is only $170 per family of four; $35 each additional family member. Treehouse rentals are available while they last; availability is very limited. Treehouses accommodate up to eight (8) campers. Please be sure to pack sleeping gear. $75 per treehouse (no A/C) or $150 per treehouse (A/C included)

Sunday, November 5

At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night event, we gather as a community to celebrate, honor, and remember those touched by blood cancers. Friends, families, schools, corporate teams, and sponsors join together to bring light to the darkness of cancer. The funds raised by this community fund lifesaving research, advocacy and support for blood cancer patients and their families. Join in the fight to cure cancer!
