MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Sheriff Rand Henderson and members of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office wore pink badges and T-shirts throughout October. These badges and shirts were personally purchased by each employee to show their support for breast cancer survivors and those currently fighting the disease. A portion of the proceeds from the badges and shirts were raised for Faith Fighting Cancer, a compassionate community that provides hope, healing, and empowerment. Faith Fighting Cancer’s mission is to offer emotional and financial support to cancer patients and their families, as well as, support educational and preventative care programs in Montgomery County and surrounding areas.

Breast cancer can hit close to home for some of our employees. It may have affected them, a sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, or a dear friend. When you witness our men and women showing their support, know that one of our core values is "compassion," which we strive to embody every day. During the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Award and Promotion Ceremony, Sheriff Rand Henderson presented a check in the amount of $1,474 to Faith Fighting Cancer for the money raised during the campaign.

Sheriff Rand Henderson stated, “The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is honored to play a role in this important campaign that aims to raise awareness and educate people about the dangers of breast cancer. We recognize the importance of partnering with organizations like Faith Fighting Cancer to provide support and resources to those affected by this tragic and life-threatening disease.”
