THE WOODLANDS, TX – The weekend may have started off with a slightly drizzly Friday morning, but things are on the upswing for the next several days, making for a doozy of a pleasant weekend.

Moderate winds, clouds, and temperatures all weekend long

We’re already past the high temperature for today – a meager 77 degrees – and the brisk winds are dying down as the clouds start to move it. The sunny skies will remain clear and the blanket of clouds won’t be fully in place until much later tonight as the temperature works its way down into the upper 50s for a low. Chris Stapleton is finally hitting the stage at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion from a previously postponed concert date, if you want to enjoy some outdoor music fun. Overnight, there may be the barest hint of a chance of a few raindrops, but the wet stuff should for the most part stay away all weekend.

Saturday will start off mainly cloudy but will segue into partly cloudy skies as the day progresses. The winds will be moderate – out of the northeast at around 7 mph at the worst, and another dip in the humidity will keep the temps in the lower 70s for a high and all the way down to 52 for the low. You’ll want to spend some quality time outdoors today, and one place to get maximum enjoyment is at the Lighting of the Doves ceremony taking place at Town Green Park and all along the Waterway.

On Sunday, it’ll go in the opposite direction, with mainly clear skies all morning and slowly but surely getting more cloudy as the day progresses. The slightly brisker winds will augment the relatively chilly high of 72, and there is the smallest change of some more raindrops, but nothing worth grabbing multiple umbrellas for. The overnight temperature will get caught in a slight warming spell and we’ll only get down to 62 for the low. As warm as it may get, you can get some winter-only fun in at the indoor Ice Rink next door to the Pavilion, now open for the season.

All weekend long, the Junior League’s Holly Jolly Holiday Market will be taking place at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott if you want to enjoy a massive expo filled with everything you’d ever need for your holidays.

As we get into Monday, expect one more warm day for next week before the pressure rises, the dew point drops, and the thermometer takes a decidedly downward turn...
