Deputies arrest wanted Murder suspect on traffic stop along Rayford Road

SPRING, TX -- Around 4:15 pm on November 23rd, 2023, one of Constable Ryan Gable's Criminal Interdiction Unit (CIU) deputies saw a gold Chevrolet 4 door make multiple traffic violation near the 400 block of Rayford Road, Spring.

After activating the emergency equipment the Chevrolet was stopped by deputies near the 400 block of Rayford Road; where the deputies made contact with the driver identified as; 42 year old Sanford U. Stokes Jr., of St. Louis, Missouri. Stanford was taken into custody after deputies were notified he had a Felony Murder Warrant for his arrest out of Illinois.

The vehicle and passenger were released from the scene. Stanford was transported to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office jail; where he was processed and released to their custody.

ALL ARRESTED PERSONS ARE INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW
