THE WOODLANDS, TX – As each day ticks closer to the 25th, the odds of us frolicking in a snowy White Christmas grow ever more dim. On the plus side, the moderate temperatures that will prevail all week will ensure we won’t have any frozen pipes, at least for the near future.

Moderate temps, iffy precipitation, and brisk winds make this week a breeze

Two weeks precisely out from the Big Day, we came out of a Sunday overnight low that was literally freezing to a Monday high of 64, of which we’re already on the other side. Within a couple of hours we’ll be in the 50s, and then into the 40s another couple of hours after that. We’re also on the far side of the rise in winds for the day, and over night as we hit our low of 40 we can enjoy a still night under starry skies.

Tuesday will start off as bright and sunny as today was, but clouds will move in throughout the day to blot the sun out from time to time. As the clouds come through, so too will the winds, kicking up to around 10 mph from time to time, making it feel a lot cooler than our natural high of 68.

After another overnight low in the 40s, Wednesday will shape up to be a mostly cloudy day. Once again, when the temperature of the day hits its high – this time 65 degrees in the mid-afternoon – so will the winds, again gusting up to 10 mph.

As Wednesday rolls into Thursday, we’ll see more blue in the sky as the clouds slowly diminish. The winds, however, will remain steady, keeping us in the mid 60s for a high. Around bedtime, though, the winds will even out a bit as the clouds start to re-form.

Our warmest low of the week – 51 degrees – will quickly be forgotten as some significant rains move in early Friday morning and continue mounting throughout the day. You might wish to curtail any outdoor activities, especially in the evening, when the rains will reach their peak. As the night progresses, the precipitation will slowly but surely wane as the low reenters the 40s – if you’re feeling adventurous, open up some upstairs screened windows to air out the house and let nature’s white noise lull you to sleep.

As the weekend hits, it may end up a lot drier and brighter than how it will start…

Stay tuned on Friday as we bring you Woodlands Weekend Weather.
