SPRING, TX -- College Park met Bridgeland for the second round of the UIL State playoffs at Klein Collins High School Friday night. Bridgeland was coming off a shootout win against Klein Forest while College Park took down Westfield in the bi-district round.

In the first half, Bridgeland came out the aggressor by controlling the ball and keeping pressure on the College Park defense. Although pressed by Bridgeland, College Park was able to creep up the field and get a couple of shots on goal.

In the 37th minute of the match, College Park’s Juan Gallo was able to get the ball past the goalie and into the back of the net. This gave the Cavaliers the 1-0 lead in the tense match.

In the second half, Bridgeland was once again the aggressor getting many shots on goal but none of which were able to cross into the net. The Cavaliers would once again get pressed on defense but would be successful in stopping the Bridgeland attacks.

In the end, College Park’s single goal was enough to win the match and get them a chance to play in the Regional Quarterfinals. They will face off against either Grand Oaks or Cypress Woods next week.
