Springtime election season is still underway – joint election and runoffs set for May

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Those who cast their votes on Primary Elections Day on March 5 who thought they were done until the General Election in November are in for a surprise. There are at least two more election days coming up in May.

The Montgomery County Joint Election Day takes place on Saturday, May 4, from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. This is a comprehensive ballot with numerous races on propositions, including (but not limited to):

  • Montgomery County Central Appraisal District Board of Directors
  • Cleveland ISD Trustees
  • Montgomery ISD Trustees
  • Willis ISD Propositions
  • City of Cleveland City Council
  • City of Conroe Mayor and City Council
  • City of Magnolia Mayor and City Council
  • City of Oak Ridge North Mayor and City Council
  • City of Panorama Village Mayor and City Council
  • Montgomery County MUD Directors and Propositions
  • The Woodlands MUD 1 Directors

Early voting for the joint election will be April 22 - 27, Monday - Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and April 29 - 30, Monday - Tuesday 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Additionally, a runoff election has been set for the hotly contested race for Montgomery County Sheriff between incumbent Rand Henderson and challenger Wesley Doolittle. In the Primary Election, spoiler Kenton Ford took 3.9 percent of the vote, which was enough to keep Henderson at 49.9 percent of the vote against Doolittle’s 46 percent, a matter of approximately four dozen ballots. The runoff election will take place on Tuesday, May 28, from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.. Early voting for the runoff will take place May 20 - 24, Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
