THE WOODLANDS, TX – The warm, sunny weather of the past few days continues today, making for a Friday with a high in the mid 80s before the sun goes down. A low dew point and plummeting humidity will keep the additional heat index at zero. There’s no real wind to speak of, so if you want to feel cool, wear proper light clothing and maybe use a hand fan. While the weather’s playing nice, enjoy some outdoor fun at Market Street as you watch students from the Sarah Kelly Music School’s ‘Live on the Lawn’ performance series.

We’ll start off dry enough, but that’ll change soon

Overnight into Saturday, a couple of clouds will dot the nearly moonless night and there might be a couple of raindrops, but most likely not, and certainly nothing to worry about. Early Saturday morning, the temperature will get all the way down to 60 before another sunny day dawns. More clouds will move in – driven by much brisker winds – but they’ll be pretty benign… for now. The high of 84 will happen just as the pressure front in the area begins to swiftly and steadily drop. This is your chance to cram in some outdoor family fun, maybe by catching ‘Toy Story’ at City Place’s Pix on the Plaza film event.

Saturday evening the humidity will increase and keep it up overnight, helping to keep the overnight low warmer at 66 degrees. Just before dawn on Sunday, the rains will begin. The precipitation will be light until midmorning, and then we’ll get a spike in showers under fully clouded skies. While the chances of getting wet will come and go after the morning spate, they will never fully go away for the rest of the day. A perfect way to avoid the rain and gloom is to catch ‘The Buddy Holly Story’ – a live music theatrical performance – matinee at the Crighton Theatre.

As you watch the Sunday sunset, you can – unfortunately for your eclipse junkies – pretty much kiss off seeing the sun (or the moon covering it) for the next several days…
